Harriet Bedford had been a yo-yo dieter for years – successfully losing weight in slimming clubs before piling the pounds back on as soon as she quit.
In 2015, she walked through the doors of a weight loss meeting. She was a size 20 and had a BMI of 45.6, making her obese.
After losing four stone, Harriet, who has a 14-year-old daughter called Shauna, was sure she could go it alone and quit the club – but before she knew it, she’d put two stone back on.
“I’d left the group thinking I could just slim at home, but I was clearly completely wrong,” she said.
Then, in 2019, something happened that snapped Harriet, from Limerick in Ireland, back into action.
